CSOs undergo capacity building workshops in remote communities

The Spotlight Initiative’s capacity building workshop in Port Kaituma with participants from Port Kaituma, Matthews Ridge, Baramita and surrounding communities
March 10, 2022

As part of the ongoing Spotlight Initiative activities, UNICEF has embarked on workshops in rural, urban and hinterland communities in Guyana. Workshops have already been held in Port Kaituma, and others are slated to be held in other parts of Guyana.  The workshops are focused on building the organisational capacity of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)  and will particularly focus on smaller community groups. The sessions aim to build the capacity of community-based groups and organisations to work with the Government of Guyana’s essential service providers and other community groups in the implementation of activities to eradicate violence against women and girls.
