Innovation
Rapid Integrated Assessment (RIA): This tool, which is being adapted to focus on evaluating violence against women and girls and femicide, carries out a mapping of the Sustainable Development Goals against national/sub-national priorities, facilitating dialogue prior to the implementation phase.
Monitoring of changes in social norms and practices in real time: Collect information through mobile devices for automated data analysis. The applications can be used to collect information on changes in social norms and practices of specific target groups.
The Seguras Application: Promote the implementation and use of the Seguras Application to increase protection of potential victims/survivors at risk of violence and femicide. The application provides key information on the existing types of violence, existing institutional responses and who to call in case of emergencies.
The MEDI-CAPT Application: This cell phone application, developed by the Programme on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones, supports clinics in collecting, documenting and preserving forensic medical evidence in cases of sexual violence so it can be used in prosecution of such crimes.
Danger Assessment Scale (DAS): This tool determines the degree of seriousness and lethal effect in cases of domestic violence where the most lethal outcome is femicide. This tool, developed with advice and inputs from abused women, shelter workers, social workers, psychologists and experts in abuse, can identify with precision the great majority of abused women who are at greater risk of femicide or attempted femicide. The scale can also be used for future developments of an early warning system against violence and femicide.
