Accelerating Spotlight Initiative's high-impact effort to end violence against women and girls
The draft “ Pact for the Future ”, which underpins the Summit of the Future, recognizes the need to “promote gender equality and empower and protect all women and girls as essential prerequisites to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.” This includes taking “targeted and accelerated action to eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls.”

Building on this ambition, the Spotlight Initiative side event, held during the Summit of the Future Action Days, aims to showcase the Initiative’s impact, secure commitments from new partners, and mobilize additional political and financial resources, to ensure Spotlight Initiative, and the wider ending violence against women and girls agenda, are resourced to respond to critical needs and stimulate progress across all Sustainable Development Goals.
