The Caribbean Regional Programme aimed to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG) and complement existing Spotlight country programmes in Grenada, Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana.
Participating agencies and Governments worked to respond to family violence in the Caribbean through legislative and other measures. The programme increased the capacity of regional institutions, women’s movements and civil society organizations, increased functional cooperation across the region, informed public policy, supported evidence-based prevention programming, and fostered greater accountability. It also enhanced the delivery of essential services for survivors and strengthened data collection and analysis on VAWG.
